Whilst scrolling down instagram I have been seeing a lot of celebrities advertising this cocowhite oil pulling whiting product from Kylie jenner , Bella Thorne , Ashley Benson , Scott Disick and many other celebrities. Now I do not blame them, because it's not their fault that they are advertising a product , but I blame the company for taking a natural product like coconut oil and add little flavours like minty fresh or lemon to make it taste better along with other chemicals so that they would be able to be preserved in a little tube. Now if you want to be fancy and spend £24.99 for 14 sachets at Holland and Barrett then be my guest , but you can get the same results buy using natural raw coconut oil ! This method is called oil pulling. What you do is go out and buy a jar of raw coconut oil and take a teaspoon oil - it melts at 24 degrees and so it will pretty much melt in your mouth. After it melts in your mouth you start swishing the oil around your mouth for 20 minutes. By doing this you are collecting the bacteria in your mouth , the oil actually cuts through plaque so this technique is really awesome ! So once you have swished the coconut oil around in your mouth for twenty minutes spit it out into a bin and not the basin as it will clog your drain , also do not swallow it as you will be swallowing bacteria! EWWWW. After than rinse your mouth withe warm water and brush your teeth as normal .
So yeah what I'm basically trying to get at here is that there are lost of natural methods that you can use that can save you so much money that are the same benefit. So the moral of the story kids is Don't be fooled by advertising !
This is interesting because I read an article online from a doctor/ dentist (can't remember exactly) and he said that oil pulling doesn't actually whiten teeth noticeably and if you want to whiten your teeth naturally, baking soda is the best method!
ReplyDeleteHowever, I've never tried oil pulling myself and could be entirely wrong haha!
Thanks for sharing this, if I really want to try something like that I'll just add mint extract to some coconut oil ;)

Baking soda is a really good method as well. In fact my mother uses baking soda and salt on her toothbrush to whiten her teeth. The natural way is the best way to do it. Thanks for reading :)
