Fifth Harmony Work From Home!

Now I am in love with Fifth harmony, have been ever since X factor days! They have recently released their single "Work from home" this Friday as it's a great catchy song I have to say , but does it really encourage female empowerment?
So here are a few lyrics that are causing me a few "confused emotion faces" about the message that they want to spread :
"Cause baby, you're the boss at home"
"Let my body do the work, work, work, work"
"Nothing but sheets in between us
Ain't no getting off early"

It's basically a song about sex. Now there is nothing wrong with that, but I just hope that the rest of the album isn't just about sex as well. Praying.

What are your thoughts on Fifth Harmony's new single?

Become OBSESSED with improvement!

People say they want to be successful all the time. They have big dreams and aspirations , I mean don't we all. I certainly do. So I started off this year with one main goal and that was that I was going to be obsessed with improvement! Yes that's right , crazy I know. So I picked on professional improvement and one personal improvement and I was going to be obsessed with them. So I'm going to let you in on them; my professional improvement is that I finish my A2 with ABB meaning that I will obsess over getting all my notes ready for my exams and sticking to my revision timetable, utilising the time I have in school, going the extra mile to improving my exam technique by reading up extra after class and doing extra past papers. My personal goal is to learn how to play the guitar, my friends brought me a guitar for Christmas and I am now officially obsessed so I have decided to dedicate at least 30 minutes of my day to playing a bit of guitar even if it is just learning a chord or part of a song as long as there is improvement I am headed somewhere.
The main aim of becoming obsessed is that you will see improvement every day without fail .
So what I want you to do is pick a professional goal and a personal goal and become obsessed with them and you will achieve them, you will improve if you dedicate your life towards them. Trust me about this. You will thank me by the end of the year.

I got a haircut and it was scary business !

The dreaded day came, it was 1:15pm on a school day on a Friday , so to be exact it was yesterday I called up the hairdressers to book a appointment. I was ready. I was going to do it, I was going to cut my hair. I was going to pluck whatever courage I had in me and I was going to snip snip snip and it was going to be alright or so I hoped it would be. I mean it turned out alright in the end, but I felt a bit bare naked to start with. The thing is I have always had rather long hair, it is like a comforting blanket , I twirled it when I was nervous in exams, it was long and got in the way of everything, it was just there for me so when it was gone it was like I lost something (yeah I know being a bit melodramatic and all). So the point of this post  is to encourage you to go for it, get your hair cut because sometimes you really do need a haircut, my hair was getting a bit tatty and had a lot of split ends, it really needed some urgent care and so sometime holding on to something that you love so dearly can actually cause more damage( that's another saying isn't it, I've heard it before ...hmmm).The haircut that I went for was just above the shoulder with long layers , so you can call it a classic.
Here is a picture of me with my old hair  (my little sister included in the picture):

Here is a picture of my today at Covent Gardens :

So the moral of the story is to go for it , cut your hair because sometimes it can actually suit you better, personally I prefer my shorter hair than my longer hair. I also wanted to share with you a few tips I got from the hairdressers , so he was called Nathan , lovely lad , he made the best tea as well, but that is besides the point , he told me to use extra virgin olive oil for the hair as a mask to prevent split ends and it makes the hair shiny also he said that he swears by coconut oil and honey as honey prevents hair fall out.
So those are Nathan's top tips. I love my haircut. This is the first time that I actually walked out happy about a haircut and not balling my eyes out. The main thing about getting you hair cut is find a good hairdressers and communicate with the person who will be cutting your hair tell them what you want, but also get their opinion on how you should get it cut because they are not a hairdresser for nothing.
Change is good , embrace it with open arms.

How to keep your skin looking young !

- Vitamin C is very important for the skin , whether you take supplements or use a moisturiser with vitamin C in it
- Stay away from the sun . So if your one of those people that love getting a tan on, i'm afraid that if you want to keep looking as youthful as you are know your going to have to opt for a fake tan because UVA rays damage deep collagen support structures. My advice would be that even on a normal day where SPF  30 just to protect you that extra mile. I mean what harm can it do.

- Exfoliation is key! It helps speed up the process of collagen renewal!

- Get a facial massage to lift , tone and tighten the skin and boast circulation. You can give yourself a massage at home just Youtube it and follow you instructions!
- Dr Murad says that you need to eat bouncier food. "Eat beans, cabbage and garlic. These foods are rich in sulphur which aids the forming of collagen and maintains the skin's natural healthy pigmentation."
- Drink a lot of water! Carry around a water bottle. Make it all cute so you are actually tempted to drink water from it!

- Retinol , Botanics organic facial oil , buy a good eyecream  and moisturizer !
- Exercise 30 minutes a day !
- Develop a green tea addiction

- Use a face mask once a week . You can make your own face mask using ingredients in your kitchen.

So these are pretty much all the tips that my mum has provided me with. I will hopefully use them and I hope that you find then beneficial too :)

If you have any other tips please share them down below xx
