I got a haircut and it was scary business !

The dreaded day came, it was 1:15pm on a school day on a Friday , so to be exact it was yesterday I called up the hairdressers to book a appointment. I was ready. I was going to do it, I was going to cut my hair. I was going to pluck whatever courage I had in me and I was going to snip snip snip and it was going to be alright or so I hoped it would be. I mean it turned out alright in the end, but I felt a bit bare naked to start with. The thing is I have always had rather long hair, it is like a comforting blanket , I twirled it when I was nervous in exams, it was long and got in the way of everything, it was just there for me so when it was gone it was like I lost something (yeah I know being a bit melodramatic and all). So the point of this post  is to encourage you to go for it, get your hair cut because sometimes you really do need a haircut, my hair was getting a bit tatty and had a lot of split ends, it really needed some urgent care and so sometime holding on to something that you love so dearly can actually cause more damage( that's another saying isn't it, I've heard it before ...hmmm).The haircut that I went for was just above the shoulder with long layers , so you can call it a classic.
Here is a picture of me with my old hair  (my little sister included in the picture):

Here is a picture of my today at Covent Gardens :

So the moral of the story is to go for it , cut your hair because sometimes it can actually suit you better, personally I prefer my shorter hair than my longer hair. I also wanted to share with you a few tips I got from the hairdressers , so he was called Nathan , lovely lad , he made the best tea as well, but that is besides the point , he told me to use extra virgin olive oil for the hair as a mask to prevent split ends and it makes the hair shiny also he said that he swears by coconut oil and honey as honey prevents hair fall out.
So those are Nathan's top tips. I love my haircut. This is the first time that I actually walked out happy about a haircut and not balling my eyes out. The main thing about getting you hair cut is find a good hairdressers and communicate with the person who will be cutting your hair tell them what you want, but also get their opinion on how you should get it cut because they are not a hairdresser for nothing.
Change is good , embrace it with open arms.

  1. Your haircut really suits you, you look great! I kind of have a huge fear of hairdressers, but I forced myself to go last week and I actually ended up liking how my hair turned out, haha<3
